Hello Readers!

Thank you so much for checking in with us. We just wanted to take the time in this short(er) post to update you all on a few changes to the site. First and foremost, we have moved to our own domain! You can now find us at sabersmartblog.com, and all previous links should forward you there. However, hosting and owning our own url and website does have some associated fees.

To offset these costs, SaberSmart has now partnered with Amazon.com as an Associate, and the system is remarkably simple:
  1. When you have got some Amazon shopping to do...
  2. Instead of typing in amazon.com or using autofill, click through our Amazon.com banner instead!
  3. Amazon gets your business, you get your goods, and SaberSmart gets a little congratulatory percentage on the side.

And that’s it! Our Amazon banner is located at the bottom of the page, within the footer. To make it even easier, you can save our link as your go-to Amazon bookmark. The more readers who do, the more we will all be able to focus on, and produce more, content.

If you use smile.amazon.com as your root URL to get to Amazon, and support a nonprofit of your choice in the process, then please use this version of our Amazon Banner and support two worthy causes.

This only works within the U.S.A. for now, international support is coming soon.
We will also be adding banners for Amazon Canada, the U.K., France, and Japan so stay tuned.

Our ads will never be intrusive, and will never feature in the head/body of any page or blog. Just know that this banner exists at the bottom of the page, and if you like our site, and have some shopping to do anyway, then this is a great way to show your support. Otherwise, continue to enjoy the site as normal!

Additionally, we have rebranded a bit to include topics we, and our reader base, seem to be more interested in. While our focus is still statistics in sports, particularly baseball, the numbers found in our day-to-day life are fascinating in their own way. This is now our journey to understand the theory and meaning of the numbers behind the box scores as well as those all around us. Hopefully we can even help teach a little statistics and sabermetrics along the way!

To expand our viewership and reader base, in addition to our regular posts once a week, we are also starting a “best-of” series on LinkedIn. Every two weeks, Alexander will post one of our articles in its entirety, without ads, to the data science community. This article will be chosen by us and our readers, so make sure to send us suggestions on Twitter for which one we should post next! Our first “best-of” post is our analysis and explanation of spurious correlations and is currently live, so be sure to check it out and share with your own network. Follow and connect with Alexander to stay up-to-date with these postings.

Finally, you may have noticed that we have restructured our pages. We have added a Gallery page, and moved our Contact page to a sub-tab under the About link in the header. The Gallery page is meant to showcase images we, and our readers, have taken at baseball games across the country this season. Got a few good images that you want to share? Hit us up on Twitter or over at our expanded Contact page and we will show them off for you, naturally crediting you and your photography skills!

That is all for now, again thank you so much for reading our content. We will see you again next week!

The SaberSmart Team
